Our Approach

How we run an engagement, from the first call to month three.

Every account gets three named people, and specialists join when the work calls for them. We automate the repetitive steps around the accounting so those people spend their hours on problems a person has to solve. Below: the team, the first ninety days, and the ways an engagement can start.

Three parts

What we will not compromise on, on any account.

  • We know the accounting.

Decades across bookkeeping, tax, and advisory. In practice that means accounts set up around how you actually operate, and a month that balances before anyone builds a report on top of it.

  • We build the tooling.

We implement and run the platforms ourselves, and when the platform does not exist, we build it. In practice that looks like bills that go to the right person for approval and land in the books without anyone typing them, or a dashboard that answers the question you ask every Monday instead of a spreadsheet someone rebuilds each week.

  • We stay ahead of it.

Our team is in your numbers every week, not every quarter, so we raise the thing before you have to ask. In practice that is a note that cash will be tight in six weeks while there is still time to plan for it, not a surprise in the monthly review.

The team model

Three seats on every account.

Specialists join as the work calls for them: payroll, tax, sales tax, and implementation.

  • Financial Operations Specialist

Your day-to-day contact. Transactions, bills, deposits, and checking the books against the bank.

  • Controller

Owns the month-end close and the reporting package, on a calendar you can plan around.

  • Director

Your fractional CFO. In the ownership conversation, the lender meeting, and the plan for next year.

The first ninety days

From handoff to a steady rhythm.

  1. Days 0-30

    Onboard

Bank access, documents, and setup on the right platforms.

  2. Days 0-30

    Meet your team

A kick-off call with the financial operations team, questions first.

  3. Days 30-60

    Set up the routine

Who approves what, when bills get paid, and the date the month closes.

  4. Days 60-90

    Find the new normal

A steady rhythm, built on a working relationship.

How engagements start

More than one door in.

Some clients start with recurring accounting, some with a single project, some with an assessment. Start where the need is.

  • Recurring accounting

A team that runs the books, closes the month, and sits in the planning conversation.

    Accounting Operations
  • A single project

A system connected, a process automated, a dashboard or a spreadsheet rebuilt. A beginning and an end, whoever does your accounting.

    Custom Builds
  • An assessment

A structured, written review of how your finances actually run, with a roadmap you can use with us or without us.

    Financial Operations Assessment

Bring us the messy version. We will show you the plan.

Tell us how the month runs now and we will tell you what we would change first.
